How to join the Million Cat Challenge

March 24, 2016

The Million Cat Challenge is open to all North American animal shelters that are working to reduce euthanasia, increase the number of cats released alive, improve the conditions within your shelter, or a combination of all three. Whether a shelter is using one initiative or all five, the Million Cat Challenge is an inclusive campaign that celebrates the efforts of all shelters to save more lives.

So we can understand where you’ve been, where you are now, and where you’re hoping to go — and so we can count lives saved! — here are a few simple numbers you’ll need before you register:

1. Your shelter’s actual feline intake, euthanasia, and live release (the specific numbers, not a percentage) for the Challenge’s baseline year of 2012.
2. Your actual feline intake, euthanasia, and live release numbers for the previous full calendar year.
3. An estimate (projection) of your feline intake, euthanasia, and live release numbers for the current calendar year.

Ready to get started? Register your shelter for the Million Cat Challenge!
